- Elephant Yam 1 cup -
- small onion 5 no. -
- red chilli 5 no. -
- Salt to taste -
- Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp -
- coconut 4 pieces -
- fennel seed 1/2 tsp -
- Garlic 4 no. -
- Oil : as required -

Instructions
- peel the yam and cut into small pieces
- in a mixie jar add onion, red chilli, coconut, garlic, salt, turmeric powder, fennel seed and make a paste
- make a fine paste
- in a pan add coconut paste and fry it
- add half boiled yam and mix well
- add required oil , mix well and fry it in medium flame
- fry the until it get cooked and turn into golden brown
- elephant yam varuval is ready to serve
