Sliced brinjal/eggplant deepfried and later oven baked with white sauce, minced meat and other ingredients.

  • For preparing Greek moussaka with eggplant, first heat oil in a pan and saute onions and ginger.
  • Add minced meat and saute for sometime till water dries up completely.
  • Add some water, required salt and cook the minced meat in low fire covering with a lid.
  • When the meat is cooked, add tomatoes and pepper powder. Saute till dry and mashed. Keep the cooked meat aside.
  • Meanwhile, slice brinjal into thick round pieces and keep in salted water for a few minutes. Drain well the brinjal pieces.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a frying pan and fry the brinjal pieces. Keep the brinjal pieces aside.
  • Heat butter in a pan and prepare white sauce by mixing maida flour and milk.
  • Remove white sauce from fire and beat an egg into it. Add grated cheese and mix well.
  • Now, we are entering the final stage of our preparation of Greek moussaka with eggplant. Arrange fried brinjal and meat alternately in a baking dish.
  • Pour the white sauce over it and bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees till the top turn golden brown in color.
  • Greek moussaka with eggplant, a yummy nutritious dish is ready. Serve hot.
