A

Idli Fry is a quick fried snack prepared with leftover idlis and aromatics. Use only refrigerated idlis and never use fresh idlis since they break up in hot oil and they absorb lot of oil too. Also fresh idli bits tend to stick together making it difficult to fry evenly. Do not let the idli pieces to brown too much. Masala Idli Fry should be crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Compared to normal idlis, I love fried idlis and with a bowl of red hot sambar it tastes simply heavenly. Masala Idli Fry is my favorite tea time snack relished with a cup of hot masala chai. I love this combination and the best thing is this is not ‘junk’, the word we frequently hear these days. This is a great after school snack, quite filling and very healthy too. I do not deep fry but always opt for shallow frying and with less oil I make the outside crisp. There is not much wastage of oil and with tissue papers I wipe off excess oil if any.

These Leftover Idli Recipes are in a way the best innovative snacks of all time that you will cherish forever. This is the newly introduced snack item in my home. My kids are satisfied, but in my case there is an exception, I reduce the chilly flavor for my sweet kids. Certain days I pack Masala Idli Fry as tiffin too. Anyhow when I checked, it went well with them, no complaining. For any mother it is real joy to discover your family satisfied with what you prepare. Idlis are nutritious, rich in protein and other vital nutrients required for body. And Idli Fry in my opinion is one of the easiest snacks you can prepare, provided you have leftover idlis in refrigerator. You can discover a well detailed Idli Fry recipe here.
