Ingredients
- Raw plantain(Vazhakka) - 250 g
- Green chillies - 4 nos
- Coconut(grated) - 1/2 of
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/4 tsp
- Garlic cloves - 4 nos
- Coconut oil - 3 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Curry leaves(Few) -
- Plain rice - 2 tsp
- Dry red chillies(Kollamulaku) - 2 nos

Instructions
- For preparing the traditional styled dish, slowly peel off the outer surface of the plantain skin and finely chop them.
- Put the chopped pieces in water.
- Place the above chopped plantain pieces along with turmeric powder, water and required salt in a vessel and allow it to cook. Keep this aside.
- Place grated coconut, cumin seeds, green chillies, garlic cloves and curry leaves in a mixer bowl and run it once into a coarse form.
- Mix together the coconut mixture with the cooked plantain.
- Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
- Splutter mustard seeds and saute red chillies, rice and curry leaves.
- Add the plantain mixture and mix well.
- Lower the flame and cook the thoran till done.
