4 cups Sorrel leaves100 g Egg plant (Brinjal)100 g Lady's finger (Okra)100 g Bottle gourd pieces (Padavalanga)2 cups Drum stick pieces (Muringakka)2 nos Radish (cut into small pieces)2 nos Carrots (diced)1 cup Red gram dal (Thuvara parippu)1 cup Onions (chopped)Ginger (garlic paste - 2 tsp)3 nos Dry Red chillies6 nos Green chillies (split)1 tsp Coriander powder150 ml Refined oilSalt (As reqd)1/2 cup Tamarind extract Cut all the vegetables into medium sized pieces.Cook the red gram in a pressure cooker until smooth.Put a deep bottomed vessel on the stove, add oil and heat. Add onion pieces, whole red chillies, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste . Fry until onions turn brown.Add the sorrel leaves also and fry until the leaves turn dark brown. Now add the cooked red gram and mix well.Add the vegetable pieces, tamarind extract, coriander powder, enough salt, water and simmer in medium flame until the vegetables are well cooked.Serve hot with rice.
