Mixed Vegetable With Sorrel(Gongura)

  • Cut all the vegetables into medium sized pieces.
  • Cook the red gram in a pressure cooker until smooth.
  • Put a deep bottomed vessel on the stove, add oil and heat. Add onion pieces, whole red chillies, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste . Fry until onions turn brown.
  • Add the sorrel leaves also and fry until the leaves turn dark brown. Now add the cooked red gram and mix well.
  • Add the vegetable pieces, tamarind extract, coriander powder, enough salt, water and simmer in medium flame until the vegetables are well cooked.
  • Serve hot with rice.
