Ingredients
- Whipped Buttermilk(Moru) - 3/4 cup
- Gram flour(Kadalamavu) - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
- Green chillies(split) - 4 -
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida(A pinch, Kayam) -
- Oil - 1 tsp
Optional:
- Fried Lady`s finger(Vendakka) -
- or -
- Fried Black gram(Uzhunnuparippu) made like small bondas -

Instructions
- Mix together 1/4 cup of buttermilk and gram flour or besan.
- Add the remaining butter milk and mix well again.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, split chillies and allow them to splutter.
- Tear the curry leaves and add to the buttermilk mixture.
- Pour the oil over the buttermilk mixture.
- Simmer for 3 - 5 mins, until thick.
- Add the optional items at the end and allow to soak for 5 - 10 mins.
