Chicken fry with pepper and coconut

  • Marinate the chicken with lemon juice, salt, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder for 10 mins.
  • Meanwhile, grind together coconut and jeera in a mixer to fine paste by adding minimal water.
  • Add this paste to the marinated chicken.
  • Add the coriander powder and mix well.
  • Heat a kadai/pan and add oil.
  • Add the marinated chicken and cover and cook on medium flame for 8 mins.
  • Remove the lid and cook well till all the water evaporates and chicken is cooked well and the marination becomes little crisp outside.
  • :- Serve hot with rice.

    Before I try this out, I need one clarification. What is cumin seed? is is Nalla jeerakam or perumjeerakam ? Perumjeerakam is Aniseed right? Then, do we use nalla jeeram for non-veg recipes?
