Phedas Phedas 500 gm Khoya (grated)300 gm Powdered sugar2-3 drops Food colour (optional)1/2 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)8-10 nos Pistachios (sliced) (Pista) Mix khoya with sugar in a kadai or a pan.Heat on low flame, stirring continuously. Cook till the mixture thickens to form a very soft lump. This should take about 10 minutes.Add cardamom powder & food colour. Mix well. Take a small fistful of mixture and press into the cookie mould and turn out carefully.Press 2-3 slices of pistachios in the center of the mixture. Repeat the procedure for the remaining mixture.
