- Gram flour/Besan(Kadala mavu) - 1 tbsp
- All purpose flour(Maida) - 1 tbsp
- Yogurt - 1 cup
- Butter - 1 tbsp
- Green chilly(chopped) - 1 no
- Ginger(chopped) - 1 tsp
- Garlic clove(crushed) - 1 no
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric(A pinch) -
- Red chilly(broken) - 1 no
- Asafoetida powder(A pinch, Kayam) -
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Water - 2 cups
- Coriander leaves(chopped) -

Instructions
- For preparing spicy north indian curry, beat together besan flour, maida and yogurt to a smooth blend without any lumps.
- Add green chilly, ginger, garlic, curry leaves, sugar and required salt.
- Keep the mixture on low flame for a few minutes till starts boiling. Remove the pan from the fire and keep aside.
- For tempering, melt butter in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add cumin seeds and fry.
- Add red chilly, asafoetida, turmeric and fry in low heat for a few seconds.
- Stir it into the besan curd mixture and allow it to simmer for 2 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving. 5)Spicy north indian curry, a yummy favorite with kids as well as elders, is ready. Serve with rice or roti.
