- Castor sugar - 125 g
- Vanilla pod - 1 no
- Melted butter - 15 g
- Corn flour - 50 g
- Flaked almonds - 50 g

Instructions
- For preparing tasty sponge cake, preheat the oven at 180 degrees celsius.
- Grease a tin and dust it with flour.
- Cover the base of the tin with flaked almonds.
- Mix in the butter, maida and corn flour. Whip it well.
- Add in the rest of the sugar and beat well.
- Fold the egg whites slowly into the yolk mixture.
- Put the mixture into the tin and bake it for 30 minutes.
- Leave it out on a rack to cool, turn it over and cut it.
- Tasty sponge cake is ready. Serve with tea.
