3/4 cup Raw white rice1 cup Tomato (chopped)1/2 cup Onion (sliced)2 nos Green chillies (sliced)1/2 tsp Ginger (minced)2 nos Dry red chillies (cut in half)1/2 dsp Black gram dhal (Uzhunnu parippu)6 nos Pepper corns (finely crushed)1/2 tsp Mustard seedsCurry leaves (Few)Coriander leaves (chopped)1 dsp GheeOil (As reqd)Salt (As reqd) For preparing traditional tomato sadam, first heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, black gram dhal, broken dry red chillies and curry leaves.Add onion pieces, ginger and green chillies. Saute well.Add tomato pieces and required salt. Saute until tomato pieces are crushed into a paste form.Meanwhile, boil 1 1 /2 cup water and add the cleaned rice. Cover with a lid and cook rice until done.Mix the tomato paste to the cooked rice and add a dash of fresh ghee for a better flavor.Traditional tomato sadam, a tasty and quick dish is ready. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves. Kerala
