Ingredients
- Semolina(Rava/Sooji) - 2 cups
- Onion(big) - 1 no

- Shallots(cut into small pieces, Kunjulli) - 5 nos
- Green chillies(cut into small pieces) - 3 -
- Ginger(cut into pieces) - 1" piece
- Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
- Black gram(Uzhunnu) - 2 tbsp
- Whole red chillies(Kollamulaku) - 2 nos
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
- Curry leaves(A few) -
- Water - 4 cups
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Oil - 2 tbsp

Instructions
- Preheat a frying pan and heat the rava till it becomes light brown and keep it aside.
- Take a kadai or pan and heat oil.
- Add mustard seeds, whole red chillies and curry leaves and allow it to splutter.
- Add onion, green chillies, ginger, black gram and saute for 2 - 3 mins.
- Add grated coconut and saute for a while.
- Add rava to the boiling water little by little, stirring continuously making sure that no lumps are formed.
- Cook for another 3 - 4 mins in simmer.
- Serve hot.
