Ari Paayasam or Rice Payasam is a delicious milk rice porridge that can be enjoyed as a dessert.   • For preparing Ari Paayasam, first wash and cook rice by adding 2 1/2 cups of water.
  • When the rice gets cooked well, add crushed jaggery and keep it in a low flame till the jaggery melts completely.
  • Add grated coconut along with cardamom powder.
  • Slit the rasakadali bananas vertically and cut it into small pieces and mix it well with the payasam.
  • When all the ingredients get mixed and cooked well and the payasam reaches a semi thick consistency, remove it from fire.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry cashew nuts and raisins and sprinkle it along with the ghee over the payasam and mix well.
  • :- This payasam is very tasty if it is served hot or served after keeping it in the fridge for sometime.
