Coconut Burfi Recipe

Coconut burfi recipe is prepared by blending grated coconut in sugar syrup

  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder Elakka podi
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • 2 tsp Nuts finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tbsp Ghee
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Pista gratted
  • 1/2 tsp Badam gratted


  • First fry lightly the grated coconut in a pan. Keep aside.
  • Take a vessel and boil water.Add sugar and bring to boil in low flame.
  • Add milk to boiling sugar syrup.
  • Keep stirring until sugar syrup thickens.
  • Stir in fried coconut and mix well to combine sugar syrup and coconut.
  • Add cardamom powder and ghee. Stir gently.
  • Spread and flatten mixture in a greased flat surface with gratted nuts. 8)Allow coconut burfi to cool and cut into desired shapes.
