  • 100 g Butter
  • 500 g Beef chopped in small pieces
  • 200 g Onions cut in round
  • 4 tsp All purpose flour Maida
  • 1 no Egg beaten
  • 4 tsp Wine
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 4 tbsp Parsley
  • Bread crumbs As reqd
  • 200 g Tomatoes
  • 600 g Potatoes cut in rounds
  • Grated cheese As reqd
  • 2 tbsp Chilly powder
  • Salt As reqd


  • For preparing Greek mow saaka, melt 150g of butter in a pan. Fry beef, onions, parsley and tomatoes in it.
  • Add salt and chilly powder to it. Fry for a few minutes. Remove it from the flame once it is done.
  • Apply oil on a cake tin and keep it aside.
  • Put the cut potatoes first at the bottom of the cake tin.
  • Add the beef mixture as the 2nd layer on top of the first.
  • Then add the cut potato again as the 3rd layer and continue this.
  • Put the potatoes at the top layer. Pour wine on top of it.
  • Melt 50g butter in another non stick pan and fry flour in it. (See not to change the color of the flour).
  • Then add milk and water. Boil it and take it out from the flame.
  • Mixed egg, cheese, salt and chilly powder to the above mixture. Stir it well.
  • Pour it into the tin with beef and potato.
  • Sprinkle bread crumbs and butter on top of it.
  • Bake it in the oven at 250 degrees for 1 hour till it becomes brown on the top.
  • Greek mow saaka is ready. Serve it by cutting it in desired shapes.
