Instant Wheat Dosa

Instant Wheat Dosa has gained immense popularity in recent years especially to cater to our fast paced life. Unlike the traditional ‘dosas’ that has invaded and cheered us from years together, these dosas do not require fermentation and the batter can be prepared in minutes serving as the perfect breakfast meal. Traditional dosas were prepared from fermented rice and lentil batter and was well known for its versatility. Instant Wheat Dosa offers a healthy and classic twist to the regular dosas, satisfying both the stomach and taste buds. Instant Wheat Dosa serves as a quick and easy fix compared to the traditional ones. It is prepared using a combination of wheat flour, maida and a variety of seasonings as you desire. In this recipe I have opted for the plain and basic level dosa that tastes great with a fresh tangy coconut chutney. Instant Wheat Dosa goes well with veg or non veg dishes too. This instant version dosa serves well for those who lack the patience for grinding and fermenting the batter. This is the best time saving option for those who are busy.

Preparing Instant Wheat Dosa is like a cool breeze. You start by combining together the dry ingredients with required salt and water. Adding dry ingredients vary based on personal preferences. You can sprinkle some closely chopped onions, ginger and green chillies on top of dosa for an extra crunch and a delightful flavor. Take care while adding water and make sure that the batter is not watery. Batter should be smooth and the consistency should be of pouring texture. It is also important to let the Instant Wheat Dosa batter rest for a few minutes before pouring on tawa to allow the flour to absorb water and develop the perfect texture. Sprinkle some ghee or oil on top of dosa to prevent sticking. Spread a ladleful batter on the hot tawa and spread out in a circular pattern to obtain a thin round dosa. Cook in low to medium heat and make it crisp. Wheat flour is a good source of dietary fiber that helps digestion and maintains a healthy gut. You can discover Instant Wheat Dosa recipe here.
