For Cooking Fish:

  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.
  • Add chopped shallots and saute for few seconds to turn into light brown.
  • Then add chopped tomato and green chilly.
  • Saute for 5-7 minutes or until the tomato becomes soft.
  • Add the previously prepared coconut paste into a kadai or clay pot
  • Pour enough water to form a curry.
  • Bring this coconut mixture to a full boil. After it has boiled 5-6 minutes, you can add the fish pieces.
  • Mix well, Simmer the curry for 5 to 8 minutes until the fish is cooked and the flavors penetrate into the curry.

For Seasoning:

  • Heat coconut oil in a small tadka pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to pop. Add in sliced shallots, curry leaves and dried red chily.fry till golden brown. Pour this tempering into the curry and mix well.
