Mango Payasam also termed ‘Mambazha Payasam’ is one of the exquisite sweet dishes served during festive occasions like Onam and Sadhyas. Mango Payasam is a tasty dessert that can be served hot or cold. Also termed Mango Kheer, ripe mangoes are cooked with coconut milk and then the thickened mango mixture is flavored with powdered cardamom, raisins and nuts. Instructions
- For preparing Mango Payasam, first cut the ripe mangoes into small cubes.
- Boil them in a pan, using a little amount of water.
- Put them in a mixer grinder and crush them well. Keep it aside.
- Take the coconuts and make 1 cup of first extract, 3 cups of second extract and 3 cups of third extract.
- When the mixture becomes thick, add the second extract and stir again.
- Garnish with powdered cardamom and raisins and cashewnuts fried in ghee.
- Mango Payasam, a delicious dessert is ready.
