Ingredients
- whole wheat flour/atta - 2 cups
- flour/maida - 1 cup
- Baking powder - 1.5 tsp
- Baking soda - ¼ tsp
- yogurt/dahi - 3 tbsp
- Milk - 2 tbsp
- Water(¾ cup or add as required) -
- Sugar - 2 tsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- onion seeds/kalonji or sesame seeds/white til - 1 tbsp
- Butter for applying on the naan (optional) -

Instructions
- Sieve the flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Knead to make a smooth dough adding water as required. The dough should be smooth and soft.
- Cover with a wet cloth and keep aside for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, add oil and knead the dough again.
- Cover with the same wet cloth and keep aside for 2 hours, till the dough rises.
- Make medium sized balls of the dough and roll in a small circle and sprinkle some onion seeds on the dough.
- After sprinkling the onion seeds/kalonji or sesame seeds/ white til dip the rolled circle in a little flour and roll again to form a four or five inch round circle.
- Heat a tava or griddle and place the naan on it. Semi cook both the sides of the naan on the tava.
- Then place the naan with the help of tongs directly on the fire and cook both the sides till they get browned and slightly charred.
- When done remove the naan and apply some butter on it.
