- Chicken pieces(washed and drained) - 500 g
- Onions(finely chopped) - 2 nos
- Ginger(garlic paste – 1 tbsp) -
- Tomato(finely chopped) - 1 no
- Chilly powder - 1 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Fennel seed powder(Perumjeerakam) - 1 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
- Freshly ground black pepper - 3 tsp
- Coriander leaves(finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
- Oil(For frying) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- For preparing pepper chicken recipe, first heat oil in a frying pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add fennel seed powder and saute in low heat.
- Stir in drained chicken pieces and sprinkle red chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and required salt. Saute for a few seconds in low heat.
- Add coriander powder, cumin seeds and pepper powder. Cook in medium heat.
- When the chicken pieces are half done, add chopped tomatoes and coriander leaves. Mix well and cover the pan with a lid. Cook in low flame until done.
- Pepper chicken recipe, an apt dish with chapathis or parathas, is ready. Serve hot.
