  • 8 nos Bread slices cut into small pieces
  • 500 ml Milk
  • 1 tbsp Corn flour mixed with 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 nos Eggs separated and beaten
  • 3 tbsp Jam
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
  • Sugar As reqd


  • For preparing sun rise pudding, soak the bread pieces in milk for 15-20 minutes and beat well.
  • Stir in the corn flour, egg yolks, essence, sugar and blend very well.
  • Heat 1 tsp of sugar in a mould till it caramelizes. Cool and pour the bread mixture into the mould. Bake in a moderately hot oven for about 30 minutes.
  • Mix together the jam & egg whites and spread this mixture over the top of the pudding.
  • Bake for another 10-12 minutes.
  • Sun rise pudding is ready. Serve when it cools and cut into slices.
