Fruit Payasam | Mixed Fruit Payasam – A Creamy Festive Dessert Loved in Kerala

Fruit Payasam, also known as Mixed Fruit Payasam, is a rich, creamy Kerala-style dessert that beautifully blends seasonal fruits with a smooth milk base. This delightful sweet dish is popular during festivals, family gatherings, and special occasions. With its vibrant colors and naturally sweet flavors, the dessert stands out as a refreshing twist to traditional Kerala payasam varieties.

This dessert combines the goodness of fresh fruits with the indulgence of a classic Indian dessert. Unlike traditional versions made only with rice or lentils, this variation offers a fruity freshness that appeals to all age groups. The balance of creamy texture and juicy fruit pieces creates a luxurious mouthfeel that makes it ideal for celebrations like Onam, Vishu, and birthdays.

This dessert is also versatile. You can customize it with seasonal fruits such as banana, apple, grapes, pomegranate, mango, or pineapple, making it suitable throughout the year. Its naturally sweet profile reduces the need for excessive sugar, which adds to its appeal among health-conscious dessert lovers.

Authentic Taste with a Modern Twist

In Kerala cuisine, payasam holds cultural significance. The dish respects that tradition while introducing a modern element through mixed fruits. The creamy base, often enriched with milk and subtle flavors, enhances the natural sweetness of the fruits without overpowering them.
