Dal Paalak Combination of dal and paalak(spinach) 1/2 cup Red gram (Thuvaraparippu)1 cup Spinach/Paalak (chopped)1 no Onion1 no Tomato1 no Slit chilly1 tsp Garlic Ginger PasteSalt (As reqd)1 tsp SugarCoriander leaves for garnishingFor Seasoning: 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeerakam)1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds (Uluva)1/2 tsp Turmeric powder2 tbsp Oil Cut paalak and cook nicely with enough water. Cook dal in a pressure cooker. Cut tomato and onions finely. Heat oil in a pan.Add all the seasoning ingredients. When it splutters, add onions and chilli. Fry till onions become translucent.Add garlic-ginger paste and fry for another minute. Add finely chopped tomatoes. Stir occasionally, until done. When it is done, add cooked dal and paalak.Pour 1/2 cup of water, salt and sugar and bring it to boil. Garnish with coriander leaves. Kerala
