A combination of mattar/green peas and paneer

  • 5 cups Milk
  • 1/2 lb Shelled Green Peas
  • 2 nos Onions
  • 3 nos Tomatoes
  • 3 nos Green pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder alter to one`s taste
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 cup Coconut Extract
  • 1 tsp Ginger chopped
  • 1 tsp Garlic chopped
  • 2 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 1 no Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 2 no Cardamom Elakka
  • 1/2 tsp Soya sauce
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice


  • Heat milk twice and add lemon juice to get the curd separated.
  • Tie the curd in a muslin cloth to get rid of the moisture.
  • Flatten it and cut into paneer cubes.
  • Deep fry in oil till it becomes golden brown and keep it aside.
  • Grind ginger, garlic, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom to a paste.
  • Take a pan and heat 1 tbsp of oil.
  • Add the chopped onions, ground masala, green pepper, tomatoes, chilly powder,coriander powder and fry well.
  • Add peas, salt, soya sauce, coconut extract and cook till the peas are tender and gravy starts to thicken.
  • Slip in the fried paneer and boil for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • :-Serve hot with rotis.

    after reading the recipe i also didnt think it will come out good.but it was good.but not so good for rice since it is little sweet.anyway thanx for the recipe

    I was very hesitant to make this version of Mutter Paneer using soya sauce but it really turned out very good ! Quite easy to make too . Thnx Jayashi for the recipe.
