Tree Cake (Baumkuchen)

Baumkuchen is a German variety of spit cake. It is a traditional pastry of many European countries throughout, and also a popular snack and dessert in Japan. This look like tree ring so we call it us tree cake. This very tasty and good in texture too. This very first try for me. This is good in party time. This cake is done by brown butter which we call ghee. This is few easy steps to do Baumkuchen.

  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • Butter - 3/4 cup
  • 1/2 cup Cake flour
  • 1 cup Chocolate ganache


  • Melt butter into brown it’s called brown butter
  • In bowl egg and beat till pale color
  • Now add ghee, sugar blend well till its cream
  • Add Flour mix well and add milk mix well
  • In greased pan pour one scoop and bake in preheated oven for 10 mins at 180 degree
  • Now again pour second scoop and bake as same. Do this procedure till batter finish
  • Now allow to cool and pour chocolate ganache. Refridgerate for 2 hours.
  • Tree cake( Baumkuchen) is ready to serve.
