Aval Pongal

this very inresting recipe and easy too. both sago and aval is good taste and simple ingredient too. this good in taste

  • 1 cup Aval poha
  • 1 cup Sago sabudana/ javarisi
  • 1/2 cup Moong dal boiled
  • 5 tsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 1/2 tsp Bell pepper
  • 2 Green chili
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger grated
  • Curry leaves little
  • 2 tblsp Coconut
  • Salt as taste
  • 4 to Cashew nut


  • Soak both aval (poha) and sago separately and moogn dal aside
  • In pan melt ghee and fry cashew and remove and keep aside
  • In same pan temper mustard, jeera, pepper, curry leaves, ginger and chili
  • Now add moong dal and cook for minute
  • Now add both sago and aval mix well and salt too
  • Now add coconut and combine all well
  • Now garnish with cashew and turn off
  • Now its ready to serve Aval Pongal ( poha pongal)
