- Mustard - 1 tsp

- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

Instructions
- In another vessel add oil and mustard when it splutters add red chilli and curry leaves, Sauté for 1 minute.
- Grind garlic, coriander leaves, pepper and cumin seeds in mixer.
- Then add this ground mix to the vessel sauté for a minute.
- Add 1 cup water to this and boil for 2 minutes. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and asafoetida. Boil for 2 minutes.
- Add salt and boil for 2 minutes.
- Now rasam is ready to serve with hot rice.
