  • 1/2 cup Unakkalari Boiled rice
  • 1 1/2 litre Milk
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 can Condensed milk
  • Cardamom powder A pinch, Elakka
  • 10 nos Raisins Unakka munthiri
  • 10 nos Cashews
  • 1 tsp Unsalted Butter


  • Wash the rice well.
  • Boil milk and add rice. Cook well until rice is done. Do not add water.
  • Add sugar and cardamom powder.
  • Add condensed milk and let it boil for 2 minutes.
  • Heat butter in a tawa and fry raisins and cashews to a golden brown color.
  • Add this to the payasam, put it in the refrigerator and serve cool.
